Elementary Art and Music Teacher

Job Summary:

New Castle Schools is seeking a passionate and skilled Elementary Art and Music Teacher to engage students in grades K-5 for art and music instruction. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment and use innovative, age-appropriate instructional strategies to help students build creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the visual and performing arts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver standards-based visual art and music lessons.
• Create an inclusive and supportive classroom that encourages student participation and growth.
• Use assessments (formative and summative) to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic needs and learning styles.
• Integrate technology and real-world applications into lessons.
• Maintain open and consistent communication with parents, guardians, and school staff.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.
• Uphold classroom management practices and school-wide behavioral expectations.
• Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and behavior logs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Music Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid Indiana teaching license with appropriate endorsements in Art and Music K-6 or K-12
• Experience teaching elementary students preferred.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
• Proficient in integrating technology into instruction.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
