Vibe Music Academy is a collective of music teachers in the greater-Indianapolis area that teach engaging private/group lessons and performance ensembles for students of all ages, whether they are beginners or advanced. Our music teachers teach from home, virtually, or in students' homes (your choice - you also get to determine your own travel fee), and they set their own teaching schedule that works best for themselves and their students. Vibe teachers plan and implement a challenging and engaging music education curriculum that caters to the individual needs of each student, treating them not just as students, but as young musicians.

 

ABOUT VIBE MUSIC ACADEMY:

We are a growing collective of music teachers spread throughout the greater-Indianapolis area. At Vibe, we are committed to creating musician through positive student experiences, a strong community, effective teaching approaches, and of course, excellent music teachers. That’s where you come in.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Instruction of Music:

Students may be of any age (from Kindergarten through adult) or ability level. Though the majority of our music instruction is 30 minute private lessons, our teachers may also teach small group lessons or ensembles, and the duration may be 30, 45, or 60 minutes. You're free to utilize curriculums of your choosing, and are encouraged to customize your approach based on the the needs and interest of the student(s). Instruction occurs either in the personal studio of the teacher (home studio or otherwise), virtually using the online platform of the teacher’s choice, or teachers travel to students' homes (and may charge a travel fee). We also have several school and partnerships of various kinds that we send teachers into for lessons or ensemble rehearsals.

2) Customer Relations and Scheduling Maintenance:

Our teachers maintain their own schedule directly with their students/parents. Timeliness, dependability, organization, and great communication skills are crucial to being successful in this role.

3) Consistent Communication with Manager and Administrators:

Communication is everything, and at Vibe it works in both directions! Teachers are encouraged to be in frequent communication with our operations team regarding scheduling, student progress, and really anything that relates to their well-being and success as a music teacher.

 

IDEAL CREDENTIALS:

To be successful as a Vibe Music Academy teacher, you should...

  • have college-level musical training on the specified instrument,

  • have taught and implemented their own lesson plans,

  • have ongoing professional music performance endeavors,

  • have strong organizational skills and be fast communicators,

  • know their way comfortably around Google applications such as Calendar, Docs, and Drive,

  • have extensive music theory and pedagogical knowledge,

  • be able to help a wide variety of students excel musically,

  • be resourceful and good at problem-solving,

  • be enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive.

 

COMPENSATION:

Teachers are structured as Independent Contractors and are paid on a twice-monthly basis. Rate of pay is between $30-40/hr of instruction and is negotiable based on qualification and experience. Additionally, a travel fee of up to $15 per lesson location may be elected by the instructor.
